Sample Stability

Preferred specimen: Use collection device to sample fresh stool, send collection tube to lab. Collection device can be stored for 6 days at room temperature and up to 30 days refrigerated.

 

Fresh stool (not in collection device) can be sent to the lab for testing if less than 48 hours old (refrig or room temp).

Collection Instructions

Random stool specimen collected with the HEMOSURE collection device. For fecal sample put the probe in the stool 5-6 times in different areas of the sample. Put the probe into the collection device and shake to mix. There are no dietary restrictions.
