Reference Ranges
Platelet Function P2Y12, PRU
Concordance of PRU and % Inhibition Results for the VerifyNow P2Y12 Test PRU Results from Clopidogrel-Dosed Patient Samples with a Low Percent Inhibition.
In an analysis of the 10,375 sample dataset from a recent clinical trial, PRU and % inhibition results reported by the VerifyNow Instrument were analyzed. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to identify the PRU threshold when sensitivity was equal to specificity for detecting whether % inhibition was above or below the defined threshold. The PRU thresholds that provided the best prediction of % inhibition above or below thresholds of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% and 60% were determined and are shown below.
Inhibition Threshold PRU Threshold ROC AUC
10% 259 0.91
20% 237 0.93
30% 214 0.95
40% 187 0.97
50% 159 0.98
60% 131 0.99
The results demonstrated a very high statistically significant (p < 0.001) area under the ROC curve, suggesting that the PRU results have excellent ability to discriminate a % inhibition result above or below the specified threshold.
