Collection Instructions

Collect a 24-hour urine in a plastic urine container without preservative. Specimen must remain refrigerated or on ice during collection. Deliver to the laboratory on ice.

Specimen Stability

4 days at Room Temperature

2 days refrigerated.

Specimen Rejection

Specimens contaminated with fecal material will be rejected.

 

Misslabeled or unlabeled containter. Incomplete 24 hour urine collection.  See 24 hour urine collection instructions for proper collection procedure. Any urine contaminated with fecal material.
