Test Code LAB4300 Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Testing on Neonates

Important Note

HSV testing for neonates can be sent locally to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center Laboratory upon provider request. 

Sacred Heart is able to perform HSV testing on CSF as a standalone test or as a part of the CSF meningitis/encephalitis panel. They are also able to perform HSV testing on swabs. 

Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV), Molecular Detection, PCR, Blood must still be sent to Mayo Clinic Laboratories, as it is not available at Sacred Heart.
