Male: Urethra is primary site of infection. N. gonorrhoeae can also be recovered from rectum, oropharynx, conjunctiva, and epididymis.
Female: Endocervix is primary site of infection, however N. gonorrhoeae can also be recovered from urethra, rectum, oropharynx, conjunctiva, and bartholin's glands.
