Specimen Type

ESWAB Transport System (wound, throat, mouth, ear, vaginal): 48 hours (room temp or refrig)

Other transport swabs are also accepted (liquid amies, liquid stuarts)

Urine: Unpreserved-room temperature: 2 hours, Unpreserved-refrigerated: 24 hours
Preserved/Boric Acid: 48 hours (room temp or refrigerated)

Respiratory: Room temperature: 2 hours, Refrigerated: 24 hours
